BOARDING SCHOOL CONCEPT, DUBAI

Purpose Built Boarding House Facility, Dubai

4 boarding house rooms

Design concept

With the award winning Boarding School structure almost complete, we were appointed to redesign the rooms in line with the Founders vision.

Maintaining the structure of the shell and core space, we reviewed the the functionality of the rooms from the boarder’s perspective, their privacy, storage and access to technology. We made design changes based on the findings, including details such as lighting, which allows one pupil to read, but not wake up the other boarder.

The key consideration of the space was room occupancy, designed to easily interchange rooms from single to double and junior to senior boarders.

We also considered the materials to ensure easy maintenance whilst maintaining the aesthetic seen in 5 star hotels.

NURSERY INTERIOR, ABU DHABI

Design and Build Renovation of Nursery Building, Abu Dhabi

130,00sqft

Interior Consultant and Design Supervision

A high end nursery project that wanted to look and feel completely different to anything else on the market in the UAE.

We developed the concept created by a leading design company in Milan into a detailed design package. Ensuring the integrity of the design intent, the design was coordinated, detailed and materials were localised to ensure they were readily available and that the design complied to UAE code.

The extent of the design included both interior and exterior, with an outstanding playground and central extension linking together two buildings.

The finished product was a unique educational facility capturing the essence of childhood through light, colour and play.

LEARNING CENTRE, ABU DHABI

Design and Build Renovation of Library, Abu Dhabi

1500sqft | Design and Build contract.

Interior Consultant and Design Supervision.

Transforming a traditional library and facility space into a dynamic learning experience for international students.

The space was to be used by a wide range of students ranging between 8 and 18 years old, we carefully considered the space to include a library with a story pit for the younger children towards the front of the space and then as the children progresses through the school, they could journey through the space, use the hot desks, team study rooms, and a multi media room with integrated on line video conferencing facilities. All inspired by activity based workspaces.

The project successfully created a space that inspires collaboration, cultivates creativity and facilitates the use of technology, providing older students with a workplace type experience.
